About Us

Childress Sports Consulting is the brainchild of Ira Childress and Andrea Mosher.  Both educators and coaches at heart, the two launched the company to provide informative, innovative and inspiring educational programs for student-athletes, professional athletes, and athletic professionals.  With over 15 years of combined experience working in the athletic industry, Andrea and Ira set out to help others succeed on the athletic fields, in the classroom, and off-the-court.  From career development workshops to social media training to recruiting coaching, Childress Sports Consulting provides a comprehensive but focused array of services. Together, they are a dynamic duo — passionate about people, passionate about sports, and serious about the success of each client they connect with.

Prior to founding Childress Sports ConsultingIra Childress began his career in athletics as a sports broadcaster and journalist, covering events such as the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, and MLB World Series. He transitioned his affinity for athletics into an administrative career at alma mater Ferris State University – earning three promotions in five years – before advancing to the NCAA National Office. As the Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Affairs at the NCAA, his work provided innovative programming that helped shape the careers of hundreds of NCAA coaches, administrators, and student-athletes. He also served as the key administrator for joint programs with the NFL. Childress received his B.S. in Applied Speech Communication and M.S. in Education from Ferris State University, where he was a student-athlete on FSU’s last Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship football team.

Andrea Mosher’s career in the athletic industry launched at her alma mater, Illinois State University.  She served as Director of Student-Athlete Development Programs and as Assistant Director of the Karin L. Bone Athletic Study Center. During her tenure at ISU, Mosher implemented engaging career, academic and personal development programs for 400+ student-athletes.  She was selected as a facilitator for the 2010 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum, and an administrator for the inaugural NFL-NCAA Life Skills/Player Development Summit. In addition to founding Childress Sports Consulting, she currently serves as the Academic Coordinator for Men’s & Women’s Basketball at the University of Detroit Mercy. 1. Congrats to you both! I’m really excited for you Moshie. Maybe I’ll send my son up there before he goes off to college next year on his whichever scholarship he receives, football, baseball or track. He’ll need some pointers before he heads off.
I love you and I’m proud of you and I can definitely see you all going nation-wide. Keep soaring my fellow Freedom Eagle!

    • Latricia, thank you so much for the message! Your encouragement means so much! Would love to work with your son, and will hopefully be presenting in Illinois soon! You are appreciated! :)

  2. Ira, great looking website. Just followed you guys on Twitter as well. Coach Perk told me you were doing something new. Looks exciting! I think there’s a real void in the industry for the service you are providing. Keep in touch, and best of luck.
